Uhnder is a start-up developing disruptive products for sensing, cognition and communication for the Internet of Things (IoT). Its main engineering operations center is in Austin, Texas, USA.

Uhnder products are targeted at autonomous driving vehicles, at drones, at autonomous marine vessels, at surveillance, at heavy machinery at robotics and at communication. Uhnder is fully funded and plans to hire aggressively over the next couple of quarters. The plan is to ship products into final customers by 2019.

As Systems Engineer, you will join a team of mixed-signal and RFIC experts to develop the next generation of electronics surrounding us and impacting us in our everyday lives.

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for system engineering for various sensing systems. This includes requirement analysis, end to end system level simulation, algorithm development etc
  • Work with analog, digital and software engineers to analyze, define and validate architectures, as well as implementation
  • Field testing, analyzing field results with simulations and corresponding debugging

Required Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of Masters degree in Electrical Engineering or Ph.D. in Physics
  • 5+ yrs experience with end to end systems modeling (analog and/or digital) in Matlab
  • Demonstrated understanding of analog and digital architectures
  • Experience with field testing of systems
  • Experience in mm-wave or radar systems is desirable
  • Experience with Matlab

As Software Engineer – Visualization and Control, you will join a team of signal processing, systems and software experts to design, implement and deploy applications to control and operate multi-sensor systems with emphasis on scientific visualization of radar data.

Essential Functions

  • Develop and deploy host applications (Windows, Linux and Mac) for control and operation of real-time embedded sensor solutions
  • Work with systems and software engineers to design and implement high-performance 3D visualization of sensor outputs
  • Validate implementations against real-world usage scenarios and data sets including field testing
  • Enable customers and partners with optimized libraries for integration into custom applications and demos

Required Education and Experience:

  • BS degree in CS/EE with ~8 years of relevant experience
  • Expert programmer in Python, C/C++ with experience in Matlab
  • Expertise in visualization and GUI frameworks and libraries incl. QT
  • Experience in Windows, Linux and Mac application development incl. interface to embedded systems
  • Experience in Agile development delivering results in a dynamic collaborative environment

As Software Engineer – Radar Signal Processing, you will join a team of signal processing, systems and software experts to design, implement and deploy the next generation of algorithms for radar signal processing.

Essential Functions

  • Design algorithms for detections processing, clustering, super resolution and other radar signal post-processing.
  • Implement algorithms in C++ into embedded solutions and optimize performance for maximum throughput and low latency
  • Work with systems engineers to validate implementations against real-world data sets including field testing
  • Work with customers and partners on customization for specific usecases and applications

Required Education and Experience

  • MS degree EE/CS with ~6 years of relevant experience
  • Expertise in radar signal processing algorithm design and implementation
  • Expert programmer in C/C++ and Matlab
  • Experience in optimization of performance on embedded VLIW/SIMD DSPs
  • Experience in Agile development delivering results in a dynamic collaborative environment

As Software Engineer – Radar Perception, you will join a team of signal processing, systems and software experts to design, implement and deploy the next generation of algorithms for advanced perception and cognition applications.

Essential Functions

  • Work closely with radar systems engineers on requirements and performance analysis
  • Design and implement reference algorithms (Matlab, C++) for object tracking, classification, image processing, sensor fusion and other advanced post-processing features
  • Work with software engineers to implement algorithms into real-time embedded solutions
  • Optimize and validate implementations against real-world data sets including field testing
  • Work with customers and partners on customization for specific usecases and applications

Required Education and Experience:

  • MS degree in EE/CS with ~8 years of relevant experience (Ph.D. preferred)
  • Expertise in object tracking, classification and perception processing algorithm design and implementation
  • Expert programmer in Matlab and C/C++
  • Strong evidence of applied innovation including multiple papers, patents and successful shipping products
  • Experience in Agile development delivering results in a dynamic collaborative environment
